Rebuzzed from the BuzzArcHives – September 2002 (approximately)
I would be remised to publish another issue without sharing with you the power of expressing it outwardly. “When you express it outwardly, you have the power of the universe at your disposal”, Iyanla Vanzant. Like many of you, sitting on my bookshelf is a copy of Iyanla Vanzant’s Acts of Faith, read cover to cover, pages folded, post-its through out, days and affirmations I want to remember, quotes that give guidance, and truths that stand to be told. It has been my faith that has brought me before you today. Those that know me and know me well, know I have no problem expressing it outwardly in the most perfect moments, and even some of the most trying ones.
Have you ever found yourself looking back at a moment after it passed, where you did nothing, said nothing, but forever wish it happened differently? Wondering what you could have done differently does not change the moment or the outcome. You have to stop wondering and start doing. The universe wants nothing more than to be in synched. Where you ought to be in the universe will eventually line up just like the moon and the stars that take there place night after night.
All you have to do is find your place in the universe. Not always a simple task, especially when satisfying the immediate interferes with our direction. However, expressing it outwardly at the correct moments, you will indeed have the power of the universe at your disposal. Ever felt like something happened right when it was suppose to? Just as you thought about it, it happened. That means you allowed the universe to work for you.
Its similar to having someone see the value in something just as you do. I am mostly referring to living your dreams, achieving that ultimate goal. Releasing the thing that you keep inside you. The thing you only mention in passing for fear of rejection or waiting for validation. No one can validate your aspirations but you. Try this example. Try expressing it outwardly to yourself first. Get used to it and get ready to become it. When the moment presents itself, express It outwardly to others in confidence. Though some might negate or discount it, you never know who is listening or watching. Waiting for the wrong people to validate It can cancel your dreams. Contrary to popular belief, as women we more often hold it in, in fear of expressing it outwardly. By the time we release, we explode like a volcano.
Once at a Words To My Sisters Luncheon (you’ll learn more about this soon), I had the attendees form a sister circle, with all the men present forming an outer circle around the sisters, most powerful to witness. We did a call to the ansisters and asked for courage to express It outwardly. I asked each sister present to put out into the universe one thing they wanted to come true that year. Half way around the circle, we all saw what we had in common. When the circle disbanded, sisters ran to each other with advice and solutions to what the other had announced. One sister simply wanted a new job and a sister across from her was hiring for a major company. Another wanted to get into television production, across from her was a sister looking for an intern. One wanted to do catering; she left as a caterer. One wanted to counsel, she left as a counselor. In just a simple moment dreams were made, solutions were found. I simply wanted to join sisters together. It all happened with expressing it outwardly.
So many of us want to have a little something at our disposal, can you handle having the universe at yours? I will break it down a little more for you. Once I expressed into universe I wanted to write, here I am. Once I told the universe I wanted to change a community, next thing I know I was face to face with former President Carter. Involved in Schools, three years at Sylvan Middle School and a grant. Radio, done that, on the radio in Atlanta, later worldwide. Mother, done that to the fullest.
Do not be afraid of sharing your dreams with the universe you are made from. The universe manages some of the simplest tasks in its daily transformations, surely a dream is not hard to manifest. Make sure to select the best moments in the best of circles toexpressing it outwardly.
