How to Enjoy the Second Half Of Live?
As a mother, I’ve got 21 years experience, not that life prepared me, but I’ve been doing it that long. Came home from the hospital with my first bundle in 1987 and I jumped right into action. Three more trips later, I had my family. Today, as my 2nd child prepares to leave home, they tell me “mom its time to get a life!”
So I googled “How to Enjoy The Second Half Of Life?” This year is the first time in I find myself not waking up at the crack of dawn. In fact, by the time I wake, the kids, dressed and headed to school. Last week I caught my son, my youngest, doing his own laundry. Now you know my weekend was shot. Well I beg their pardon. I thought I had a life, I didn’t know I needed a second one. Though I still have two kids at home, parenting them has been reduced to “Mom can I get the card?” “The” card? Maybe if I stamp a hologram on my forehead, I could get some love too.
Seriously I didn’t expect them to need me forever. In fact I was often excited to have them when I did so that I could have a second life. But now that’s its here, what do I do? From the BRAIN aka Google, either I’ve got a fear or phobia; need acupuncture; or should buy a book or write a book.
When I added keywords “when single” to the search, it came back that I should look forward to sex after 50 (OMG); should know about a 100 secrets to the best life; there was something about a race against time and psychotherapy, and lastly a few links about travel. Whew! My 4 trips to the hospital was easier than this or at least it was less complicated.
