Tv One Series Black Men Revealed Returns For New Season with 2 Live Stews

July 2, 2008

Atlanta-based brothers Doug and Ryan Stewart, “2 Live Stews” reveal what black men really think in 2nd season of TV One’s Black Men Revealed

Black men are a hot topic, the subject of widespread urban myths and conventional wisdom. They’re studied by academia, profiled racially by law enforcement, examined by news media – and discussed in great detail by African American women. But what do black men really think? TV One brings together African American men from all walks of life to explore – and often explode – the myths and truths surrounding them in season two of TV One’s provocative series, Black Men Revealed, premiering Sunday, July 20 from 10-11 PM ET, repeating at 1 AM ET and on Wednesdays at 10PM ET. Keeping it lively this season are new hosts former NFL star Ryan and his brother, Doug, Stewart, otherwise known as the popular syndicated sports radio personalities “The 2 Live Stews.”

In each episode, filmed in Atlanta, the 2 Live Stews and three male guests of various ages, educational backgrounds, and economic strata come together and toast to telling nothing but the truth about the facts, the fiction and everything in between that defines and drives black men. The engaging Stewart brothers bring high-energy to the surprisingly candid discussions, which can sometimes move in unexpected directions. The only thing that’s for certain is that, when five men come together to discuss controversial or intimate topics, all bets – and all stereotypes – are off. Each week Black Men Revealed explores a different topic, from serious societal issues to those designed to help women better understand how men think. Topics during the nine-episode season range from “The Secret’s Out” about gay black men on the “down low” who hide their sexual orientation and pass on the HIV virus to their female partners and wives; to “Fatherhood: Just Be A Man About It” to “Why I Never Called Her Back.”

In the premiere episode on July 20, the 2 Live Stews will explore the good, the bad and the ugly in “Roots: What We Inherited.” The traits and traditions that black men have inherited from their ancestors are explored as the Stews and their guests, Dr. Kamau Bobb, self-published author and relationship expert Zo Williams and comedian Johnny Mack, discuss why African American culture is so negatively depicted and yet the most emulated.

In the last episode of the season, “Finally, The Ladies Go Stewin’!”, for the first time women will get their turn in the conversation as the 2 Live Stews host an opinionated group of talkers that include comedienne Sheryl Underwood, radio personality Rashan Ali, life stylist Bevy Smith and Shanay Hall.

Black Men Revealed is produced for TV One by Macvision Entertainment. Executive producers are Alec Chenault, Monique Chenault, Marcus King and Greg Shelton.

Atlanta-based brothers Doug and Ryan Stewart bring a fresh approach to sports radio with high energy interviews with the hottest athletes and celebrities and interesting topics that bring something new to the ‘old school’ sports talk format. Their radio program is nationally syndicated on Sporting News Radio. Since becoming syndicated, the duo have also become regulars on ESPN2’s First Take. In 2004, the 2 Live Stews were named Air Talent of the year by ESPN. More info: www.tvoneonline.com
