Following @hurricanes for Gustav Updates

August 30, 2008

Will Twitter help avoid another Katrina? Follow @hurricanes Radar: You can currently view Hurricane Gustav’s center on the long-range Nexrad radar out of Key West, Florida. http://twurl.nl/qxwn23

When an earthquake hit California in previous weeks, those who interact consistantly via chat and friends forum were able to spread the news from one coast to the next without the help of the local news crew.  The CamTextTwit generation can get a message across the world in seconds or less.  Three years ago, this same tech stuff was there, but we didn’t or couldn’t use it.

Today it may save lives. Do you CamTextTwit.  We suggest you get your google on and start building a friends list today.

Atlanta Based Reality Show Seeks More ‘Tycoons” for The Next Tycoon

August 30, 2008

HTML clipboardThe Next Tycoon, a new reality business show profiling entrepreneurial thinkers, was received with enthusiasm from budding entrepreneurs and show sponsors. And due to the show’s initial success, The Next Tycoon has been extended to a second show, giving more entrepreneurs the opportunity to show the world why they are the next tycoons.

The Next Tycoon is a business plan competition pitting entrepreneurs with some of the most innovative and revolutionary business ideas against
each other in front of television cameras, critical, business-savvy judges, and a live studio audience on the CBS 46 broadcast network. The first show
was judged by Dr. Benn Konsynski, professor at Emory Goizueta Business School; Salmeh Fodor, a partner with Marchman & Kasraie, LLC; and John Sands, founder of Marjohni, Inc. The Panel of Hard Knocks was comprised of Rania Skef, Bethany Vincent, and Mark Latham.

The first episode is scheduled to air on CBS 46 in Atlanta. The show has also been picked by the new national cable channel, the MAV Network.
The taping for this second episode is on Sept. 10.

W. Cliff Oxford, the brainchild behind The Next Tycoon, is an entrepreneur himself. While the competition is based in Atlanta, it is not limited to the
region. Anyone who has a viable and promising business idea is eligible to compete on The Next Tycoon.

Instructions and more details about the show are available on The Next Tycoon website, www.thenexttycoon.biz

She catapulted to the state’s top political post after a stint in local politics, serving as mayor and a council member of the small town of Wasila.
