DL Hughley’s 2nd Chance – Episode 2 – Was He Ready for 2nd Round with Critics

Buzz After the 2nd Show 11.01.08:

DL Hughley seemed painfully aware that viewers were overwhelmingly dissatisfied with his show.  In fact, the show included a “bit” mocking “undecided viewers.”  As with much of the “comedy” portion of the show it was nothere funny.   Again, twitter viewers (those of us who twitted during the show) were very impressed with the interview portions which this week included Al Sharpton and Donna Brazile.

Twitterers wondered, if Hughley was to take the high road, would CNN support it.  Perhaps for the “comedy” segments, Hughley could have a side kick, since CNN wants to distract us with laughter.

Hopefully DL Hughley did not pre-taped his first few episodes.  If not, he might have a 2nd chance to win over audiences for  “DL Hughley Breaks the News.”  During and after the airing of the first episode, many viewers expressed a great discomfort with this show.  There was a great need to go back to the drawing board with this one.  Will he get right?  What is right?  There was a clear demographic that came out of the first episode.  We’ll watch this weekend to see where the show goes and if Hughley attempts to bring back those that were disappointed and as they put it “embarrassed.”
