FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS ANNOUNCED FOR RAP LEGEND MC BREED

Family Urges Breed’s Fans to Support Kidney Research

Flint, Michigan (November 26, 2008)  A memorial service to honor rap icon Eric T. Breed, better known as MC Breed, is scheduled for Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, 1851 West Carpenter Rd., Flint, Michigan from 12 noon to 2 p.m.  MC Breed passed away due to kidney failure, on Saturday at the age of 37.

Eric T. Breed was born in Flint, Michigan on June 12, 1971.  Breed quickly rose to stardom with the success of “Ain’t No Future in Yo Frontin,” which peaked at #66 on the Billboard Hot 100 and “Gotta Get Mine,” featuring 2Pac, which made it to #6 on the Hot Rap Singles chart.  Over Breed’s career, he recorded more than 13 albums and collaborated with some of the most recognized names in hip-hop including 2Pac, Too Short, Warren G, The D.O.C. and Jazze Pha.

Breed is survived by his parents, Roy LeEster and Willie Breed; five children- Kiara Monique, Erica Ariel, Alexis Cymone, Marco “MC” Chene, and Eric Jalen; three siblings- Pete, Kevin and Bridgette Breed.

Breed was hospitalized for kidney failure and briefly placed on life support in September.  In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be sent to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852, www.kidneyfund.org, or call (800) 638-8299 and specify “In memory of MC Breed.”

The family and management of MC Breed would like to release the following statement:

“We are saddened by our great loss.  More than just an artist, we mourn the loss of a beloved father, son, brother and friend.  We are overwhelmed by the tremendous outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.  We are thankful and blessed to have been in his presence and want him to be remembered for his creative, caring, talented and hard-working spirit.”

“Managing Breed changed our lives for the better.  He was more than an artist, he was family.  He touched so many and is credited with inspiring many of the hip hop acts in music today.  Words can’t express how much he will be missed.”

Eric T. Breed, known as MC Breed, born June 12, 1971, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2008, in Flint, Michigan.  Breed, a loving father, leaves behind to mourn 5 children- Kiara Monique (18), Erica Ariel (16), Alexis Cymone (14), Marco “MC” Chene (9), and Eric Jalen (1).  Survivors also include his parents, Roy LeEster and Willie Breed, brothers, Pete and Kevin Breed, sister, Bridgette Breed, his soul mate Natasha Gist, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral arrangements are being made in Breed’s hometown of Flint, Michigan by Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home.  No additional details are available at this time.

    first of all im going to miss this young man we shared ideas over the phone from the time i met him in 93 ..this man opened his home he and tosha to us cats from peoria illinois showing midwest love us so to the family if there is anything peoria illinois can do for you please dont hesitate to ask breed will be missed by the rap game……….mc breed king of the midwest …………much love from mike alexander myspace.com/speakinlife
