Porshe Foxx Not On the Box?

Porshe Foxx Is Not on the Boxx? “No comment.”

Atlanta radio remained and apparently is still a top “keyword” for DryerBuzz.com. During the holidays, such keywords as in “Porsche Foxx”, “Atlanta” and an urban station appeared in DryerBuzz’s top searches. Coming back from break, it was time to get the buzz.

At DryerBuzz.com it’s not our intent to follow the bloggerazzi, so we went to the source after our voice-mails filled up. The source being Reggie Rouse, Vice President of Urban Programming at CBS Radio at www.v-103.com. We posed 20 questions all to which Rouse replied “no comment.” Standard procedure as always. However the way he said “no comment” and the pauses in between, we could make some predictions. We’ve predicted Atlanta radio before and been absolutly right – such as with Steve Harvey, Baisden, Sharpton and other syndication now on air in the city. Whether predictions or not, we do drop some great hints and program directors seem to follow suit.

Foremost, we will not speculate about Porshe Foxx – on a personal level. However, we did disagree with the Foxx return – programming wise – with stronger competition coming to the city in the form of syndication. It’s business not personal. V-103 is a number one station, it can take some risks. ATL is a bubble and V-103 obviously has it on locked.

V-103 is back to the drawing board with what to do with the midday slot. We asked Rouse if the station was still grooming such personalities as Elle Duncan, who we think could be the money maker “promotionally.” There’s also a few others working behind the scene who could come to the mic. Perhaps the slot with the right “youthful” personality, could tap into and expand the stations ”Web Mag” and Internet presence since most are probably listening online while at work.
