Sorry, but we do need to make a distinction between SFPD and BART cops. I have witnessed a number of very commendable acts by the SFPD. These were BART cops.

I was in SF that night, and as a white middle aged guy, was more concerned about getting hassled by cops than robbed by thugs. I rarely feel comfortable around people with guns who can do what ever they want and then say what ever they want afterwards, with judges always leaning in their favor. Meanwhile, across the Bay, BART cops were murdering a young man trying to make it home from NYE revelries with his friends.

What is hard to understand is why authorities are taking so long in coming to a logical unbiased conclusion on this frightening and sad story. At least 6 camera angles on the cops and victim exist. From the 4 that were shot by onlookers, it is quite obvious that this piece of crap in uniform murdered the compliant young man in cold blood. He was handcuffed and posed no threat to anyone at that point! The cops were the threat, not the victim. In fact you can see the skinhead cop is still leaning down over the kid when the murdering fascist pig fired his (what looks like a) double action revolver. The skinhead cop must have peed his pants, considering his face was about 28" from the muzzle of a 357 magnum when it was fired. (Assuming the caliber because a 38 special round wouldn't go all the way through and ricochet off the pavement underneath the victim.) That (skinhead) cop is probably deaf now, and he is lucky he's not blind from lateral muzzel spray. THIS HAS to be against regulation! Hell, what if the richochet hit an innocent bystander??? Would they have considered that acceptable collateral damage? For WHAT? Was this guy an armed lunatic or terrorist? NO! This is truely bizarre, consider they don't even shoot at armed bank robbers anymore.

Furthermore, one wonders, if the cops felt this guy was so dangerous, why didn't they move the other detainees away from him? If he was a threat, shouldn't they have moved other citizens (the victim's friends) out of danger? They were supposedly called to the scene because of an altercation between groups of BART passengers. But in the end, they were the ones causing a greater threat and finally murdering someone. And now they think they can get away with it, saying "Its important not to jump to conclusions." Yea, like we shouldn't jump to the conclusion that 2 planes actually crashed into the WTC on 9/11!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope the cop gets life in prison without the possiblity of parole.

Another instance of law enforcement out of control. Cameras should not only be installed in squad cars, but on the officers themselves so it isn't just the "suspect" that is being observed!

this shooting is insane, it seems the government is letting the police make the laws and determine human fate as they go, this "cop" needs to be charged with 1st degree murder and the others charged with with assisting it and put on death row and wait there time, this seems to me the reason we are at war now because of people like this " taliban" making there own laws and killing as they please and getting an excuse from the government that they are justified to do any thing they want to do.
