What’s Up with that Brother: Jessie Spike

January 9, 2009

Candidates for Atlanta’s mayoral race begin to emerge.  Already a sense of CHANGE in that previous races have gone to “that one” which seemed to be ordained by old guard leadership.  Local politics have been under the radar overshadowed by a historic national presidential election, but here comes the rumble. Meet Jessie Spike who announced today that his campaign for Mayor of Atlanta has raised $235,000 to kick off the 2009 race.

A press release received Friday (1/9) tells us that he’s a native of Henry County. Also an attorney with McKenna, Long & Aldridge in Atlanta. He seems to have spent more than 30 years as a lawyer in Atlanta, the Middle East and Europe. A graduate of Dartmouth College, a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University and received his law degree from Harvard Law School. His community service includes seven-and-one-half years as chairman of the Fulton County Board of Registration and Elections and leadership service at Agnes Scott College, The Alliance Theatre, The Atlanta Area Council of the Boys Scouts of America and the Atlanta Organizing Committee for the 1996 Olympic Games.

At post time Spike’s website has no social networking links though he is well ranked in Google (why not with two popular keywords in his name, i.e. (jesse jackson/spike lee).  Look at it this way, we didn’t find anything negative to make us turn away.  So we’ll look a head to more positive change.

Jesse Spike says (according to his website)… The number one decision we face in our next election for mayor of Atlanta is choosing a leader who will get our financial house in order.

Wake UP Call! Lisa, Mary, and Kasim let the voters decide who will be the next Mayor of Atlanta and stop these amateurism antics and advise your staff that they are playing a dangerous game. I find it hilarious that you would each have the same slime-ball on payroll. You may also want to review you staffing plans EACH of you have a mole operating in your campaigns. Politics 101

Furthermore, Lisa and Kasim you both will NEVER be Mayor of Atlanta, because you are disingenuous and have delusions of grandeur. Mary will also get 20% of the African-American vote. Not because she is a great candidate, but largely due to the fact that Blacks are sick of elitist, pompous, arrogant, self-serving black leadership, which has further disenfranchised our communities! No jobs, exorbant foreclosures, and HIGH CRIME.

Shirley Franklin did not make any of us proud. She made us weep.

Glen, I applaud your efforts and campaign to take these monsters! Remember the reason they fear you and Jessie Spikes is because they realize the two of you will stripe away too many black votes, thus eliminating the potential for a Run-off which they will also lose by large margins. Mary will get 70% of the white vote and 20% of the black vote. Thus, keep up the good work. Mayor Norwood for Mayor! Kudo’s we get a 2-for-1 with Clair Muller for President.
