Trumpet Awards 2009 Airs Easter Sunday on TV One

March 9, 2009

Seeing is Believing — Xernona Clayton’s dedication to highlighting African American achievement brings us The Trumpet Awards each year celebrating a group of indiviuals deserving of recognition.  Don’t miss the Trumpet Awards 2009 airing Easter Sunday on TV One.

Originally presented by Turner Broadcasting in 1993 and now presented by the Trumpet Awards Foundation, Inc., the Trumpet Awards were created to herald the accomplishments of Black Americans who have succeeded against immense odds. Special recognition is given to the few, who symbolize the many, who have overcome the ills of racism and poverty and achieved special greatness.

This year’s awards were hosted by Anthony Anderson (Law and Order) and Sherri Shepherd from The View.  The awards were taped in Atlanta at the Cobb Energy Center. A host of events surround the award show tapping.  New media helps to keep the Trumpet Awards front and center and in the headlines.

Below is a host of Youtubers took to the red carpet to spread the buzz.  For an extensive playlist of Trumpet Awards 2009 coverage – click here.
