Latin American Film Festival
September 25 – October 31. High Museum of Art – Rich Theatre
The High is excited to present its 24th year of the Latin American Film Festival and continues to offer patrons a series deep in quality and breadth. This program reflects the diverse film culture of Latin America.
This year’s films are fascinating in their exploration of young people who are just discovering love and finding themselves, and elders for whom life still holds revelations and wonders. From the Generation Y college students of That’s It and the young protagonists of The Paranoids and Ocean to the retirees of Ballroom, the veteran Tango kings of Café de los Maestros and the central characters in Nora’s Will and The Window, these films look at the entire range of our emotional lives. As with every Latin American Film Festival, themes of social and political justice are also key, and are central to such films as Oblivion/El Olvido and Lion’s Den.
Notes: All films are in their original languages with English subtitles. Most films are for mature audiences.
