Men Stopping Violence Honors Hill Harper, Judith OBrien and Dr. Rudolph P. Byrd, Oct. 17 at The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta
Seeing is Believing — Men Stopping Violence will honor three individuals who have tirelessly dedicated time and energy to fostering safety and justice for women at its annual awards dinner, One Vision, Many Voices, on October 17 at The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta. The 2009 award recipients are:
- Award-winning actor, currently appearing on CSI: NY and New York Times best-selling author Hill Harper, who will receive the True Ally Award.
- Attorney, activist and community leader Judith A. O’Brien, a partner at Sutherland, Asbill & Brennan LLP, who will receive the Kathleen Carlin Justice Seekers Award; and
- Prominent author and founding director of the James Weldon Johnson Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies at Emory University, Dr. Rudolph P. Byrd, who will receive the inaugural Dick Bathrick Activist Award.
Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter India.Arie will present the True Ally Award to Hill Harper.
