Photo Buzz: Mary J. Blige on a Mission for the Advancement of Women Now
October 24, 2009
Buzz on Mary J. Blige and Steve Stoute Foundation For the Advancement of Women Now, Inc., (FFAWN) — Mary J Blige is on a mission dedicated to helping women gain confidence and skills needed to reach their full individual potential.
FFAWN will initially focus its efforts in Yonkers and surrounding communities in Westchester County and then expand its scope to include the Greater New York area and, eventually, the entire country.
From the Site’s Website:
FFAWN’s first and primary programming initiative is the Mary J. Blige Center for Women, set in Mary’s hometown of Yonkers, NY in 2009. FFAWN has partnered with Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS), a full-service, community-based organization, to create the first Mary J. Blige Center for Women. The Center intended to function as a “one-stop shop” for women, making resources more accessible and more customized than they are now, allowing the women it serves to gain access to services from which they would not otherwise benefit.
