The announcement by Fox News on Tuesday that LL Cool J would be featured in the debut episode of a new show hosted by Sarah Palin provoked surprise among many – including, apparently, the rapper himself, who wrote on his Twitter account late Tuesday that he had not participated in the show.
“Fox lifted an old interview I gave in 2008 to someone else & are misrepresenting to the public in order to promote Sarah Palins Show,” he tweeted. “WOW.”

After stirring blogs, forums and radio stations nationwide in December, ABC’s Nightline, along with ‘Good Morning America’ personality, radio host, and best selling author Steve Harvey and ‘The View’ co-host Sherri Shepherd will take a hard look, through debate and conversation, at black women, dating, and why 42% of black women are not married.
Titled ‘The Nightline Face-Off” – Why can’t a successful black woman find a man?,’ the forthcoming conversation is set to take place Friday, April 9 in Decatur, Georgia, also airing on ‘Nightline’.
If the “successful woman” is missing something, why has she deemed herself a success? This generation should be in therapy not on TV. Having a hyper conversation on television won’t get them any closer to walking down the isle. But we’ll be watching.

David Mills, a University of Maryland graduate and Emmy-award-winning screenwriter for his work on “The Corner,” collapsed on the set of HBO’s “Treme” Tuesday and died in a New Orleans Hospital, according series creator David Simon. He was 48 years old. The cause of death was a brain aneurysm.

I met Elisabeth Møller Jensen, the director of KVINFO, “the Danish center for information on gender, equality and ethnicity” – an extraordinary organization funded by Denmark’s Ministry of Culture. One of its many innovative programs is already showing results in terms of genuinely integrating immigrant families into Danish society. By addressing immigrant women – and by viewing them as potential leaders, rather than as quiescent potential maids or service workers – KVINFO is enabling their families to witness the benefits of an open civil society in their own lives.

If women ran Wall Street, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner’s job cleaning up the bloodied financial markets might not be so tough.
In opening a Women in Finance Symposium that brought together top female government figures such as Sheila Bair and Mary Schapiro, Geithner said he recently read an article asking what it would be like if women ran the hyper-competitive money hub of the United States.
“It’s an excellent question. But kind of a low bar,” Geithner joked, eliciting laughs from the gathering in the historic Treasury Cash Room. “How, you might ask, could women not have done better?”
