King said to the listening audience, “when i came to new birth, I came for a season. My assignment, that God has on my life, I must go and pursue. I can no longer fight the mandate on my life. “ King also said she plans to start a ministry but won’t at this time call it a church as it may be something people are not accustomed.

The Rev. Bernice King will announce on a radio show Tuesday that she is stepping down as an elder at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, an action apparently unrelated to Bishop Eddie Long’s recent settlement of four sexual misconduct lawsuits.
2004, AJC On Dec. 11, 2004, Bernice King (right) stood with Eddie Long (with torch) at a march against gay marriage at the Martin Luther King National Historic Site.
King intends to disclose her plans to radio host Rhodell Lewis on Praise 102.5, and on mypraiseatl.com between 4 and 5:30 p.m., according to an Effective Media Group news release.
King is leaving with the blessing of Long, pastor of the Lithonia Megachurch, and had been planning this move for a couple of years, according to a person with knowledge of the situation who was not authorized to speak publicly and requested anonymity.

The Clippings – The Website Shop, the nation’s 1st physical website design store, was awarded the 2011 Black Enterprise Elevator Pitch contest grand prize $10,000 small business grant at the 2011 Black Enterprise Entrepreneur Expo in Atlanta, GA on May 23rd, 2011.
The Black Enterprise Elevator Pitch Competition awarded $10,000 for the best new business idea. The judges Earl “Butch” Graves, Jr., President CEO, Black Enterprise; Magnus Greaves, Founder, The CASHFLOW; Star Jones, Author, Attorney TV Personality; and J. Anthony Brown, Comedian Radio Personality, The Tom Joyner Morning Show. Hosted by PepsiCo.
The Website Shop beat out over 500+ entries to Black Enterprise’s website, and beat out 9 other contest hopefuls at the final event during the 2011 Black Enterprise Entrepreneur Expo in Atlanta to win the grand prize.
The Website Shop is located conveniently inside the top level of Northlake Mall, in Atlanta, GA. In addition to the $10,000 Grand Prize, Brandon Butler will be featured in an upcoming issue of Black Enterprise magazine.

Savannah’s own MMA Fighter, Muhsin Corbbrey to fight June 3rd, 2011 in Queensland, Australia.
The bout will be promoted by Cage Fighting Championships and will air on Fox Sports, Australia. This is a #1 lightweight contender fight.
Australian promoters Cage Fighting Championship card, CFC 17, will showcase Savannah‘s own Elite XC veteran Muhsin Corbbrey versus Australian Adrian Pang. The card takes place June 3rd, 2011 in Queensland, Australia. It will air on Fox Sports Australia.
Muhsin Corbbrey put his name on the map when he surprisingly pushed Nick Diaz to the brink in 2008. He ended up losing the fight in the third round, but still impressed many pundits. Over a year later, he made his WEC debut, but dropped back-to-back fights to Anthony Njokuani and Zach Micklewright. In his last fight, he defeated Cheng Jie Wu at Martial Combat 4 in Singapore.
Cage Fighting Championship (CFC) is one of the primer Australian mixed martial arts organizations. The promotions most successful alumni is CFC and Bellator middleweight championship, Hector Lombard who has competed in nine CFC events.

Regular Submissions must be postmarked on or before Friday, June 10, 2011. Late entries must be postmarked on or before June 17, 2011 with the required late entry fee. Visit the Submission Guidelines page for full details and additional information.
Winning filmmakers will be selected by the MQE IFF Selection Committee. All winners will be announced on or before Saturday, June 18, 2011. Winning films will be showcased during the Black Women’s Expo 2011 Tour in the three cities (Atlanta, Chicago, Philadelphia).
