Prior to post time, several Fulton County Jail workers were arrested following an investigation and recent shooting inside the jail. In the audio from an early morning talk show interview, family members admit to paying “rent” to keep inmates safe. This is surely a developing story.

Audiences Concerned About “The Help” | Are you? | Follow The Buzz #theHelp | Meet @CriticofTheHelp
June 30, 2011
The Clippings — DryerBuzz.com — When we go to see Black movies, we normally have to sit through what seems to be an infinite number of trailers for every Black movie coming out that year. BAM! A bunch of Black maids on the screen. A familiar scene of the unloading of a bus of Black women making their way like the early morning dew through a suburban neighborhood. A semi quiet wt? is heard from the audience.
Well here it comes in living color. A movie adaptation of the “The Help” writtern by Kathryn Stockett. I would tell you what its about, but everyone seems to see if differently. Even the book cover has changed for its new movie going audience. The women have been removed and are now replaced by birds. Huh? I purchased the book on Audible since I haven’t much time to read. I myself have taken a great liking to Minnie (you’ll know why soon). I’m sure there will be many complaints about her sass, but frankly I missed the southern sass, wisdom, and strength which reminds of days gone by. Yes those times should be gone for the most part, but was something else lost with them?
I think I’m half way through the book. Can I bring myself to sit in the theater to watch it? Wish there weren’t so many sisters needing work in Hollywood. But its here and so are its critcs.
