Sunsets Remembered: Final tribute for fallen Atlanta officer Gail Thomas

VideoBuzz: Hundreds of police officers across Georgia will gather at a service for an Atlanta police officer killed by a motorist.

The funeral for Senior Police Officer Gail D. Thomas is set for Monday at 11 a.m. at the Elizabeth Baptist Church in Atlanta. (11Alive.com)

Sunday, friends, community members, classmates, and officers gathered with her family for her wake in southwest Atlanta.

Known for her smile, as God would have it, Thomas memorialized on what is known as “Happy Monday.” Thomas leaves a 22-year-old daughter to cherish her memory. A fund has been established.
