The National Black Chamber of Commerce® is pleased to announce their 18th Annual National Convention on July 22-24, in Houston at the Four Seasons Hotel (an attractive group rate has been secured.)  ”Energy and Technology: The Drivers of the American Economy is this year’s theme,” announced President/CEO Harry C. Alford. Alford states, “Both fields are growing, evolving and potentially the source of many new contracts for small businesses and thus the creation of new jobs. This conference promotes capitalism and economic development.”

The NBCC convention is new to Houston.  It was previously held in New Orleans 3 years consecutively from 2006-2008, to assist in the rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina, and took place in Washington, DC, last year.  Houston, with its large number of energy and technology companies, is the perfect fit for this year’s convention which will cover such topics as: Energy Solutions and Innovations, Access to Capital, Broadband Deployment, Chamber Best Practices, Procurement, Telecommunications, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act and Section 3 of the HUD Act.

A town hall meeting will take place on The Green Economy, Energy and Our Community with new product demonstrations by innovative energy and technology companies.

Registration is open to the public and can be made by logging onto the National Black Chamber of Commerce® website.
