Just as the rumors of a pricey Apple tablet computer have reached a high-water mark, Freescale Semiconductor on Monday showcased reference designs of an affordable, lightweight tablet computer, which is set to hit the market later this year.
Freescale, which supplies the guts for this new breed of computers called smartbooks (about one third the size and volume of a typical netbook), is putting its weight behind this category with a concept of what could become everybody’s tablet.

The new year kicked off with a potentially new unearthed Michael Jackson song. A snippet of a track called “Another Day,” reportedly sung by the King of Pop, hit the Web over New Year’s weekend. “Another Day” appears to be Jackson’s version of Lenny Kravitz’s “Storm,” a song that appeared on the rocker’s 2004 album Baptism and featured a guest spot by Jay-Z.

‘Burj Dubai’ or ‘Dubai Tower’, with its 164 floors, and more than 800 meters, is the world’s tallest building inaugurated on January 4, 2010. A luxury Armani hotel will occupy the bottom floors. The cost of the tower is estimated around 1 billion euros… It should take 2 minutes to get to the summit on some of the fastest elevators in the world, which travel at up to 40 kilometers per hour.
