DryerBuzz Entertainment Report — Read It Watch It Listen today and everyday …

Raw Transcript:

shermthumbWho’s talking about you? that is the question of the day or shall we say weekend. It was all Erin Andrews could think of when she happened upon an interview with Richard Sherman before he could get out of his feeling after his team clinched a win taking them to the Super Bowl. With this Shermanism in mind – are you the best or just mediocre? Who’s buzzing about you?

Here’s what some are buzzing about to kick off the week. First and foremost Richard Sherman’s team IS going to the super bowl. Who does he play for — the Seahawks. Who are they going against in super bowl — Denver. Who’s performing half time — Bruno Mars. When: Sunday, February 2, 6:30 PM on FOX; Where: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey. This only happens when you’re the best — no mediocre.

If you spent MLK Day in Atlanta — then you probably had the best time commemorating the life and legacy of Dr. King. Any where else — probably mediocre. Hopefully, you followed the buzz all weekend — and you were able to do so via various live streams as we buzzed the city events hosted by the King Center and later Operation Hope’s Financial Dignity Center.

In the #top10weekend report we gave you 10 of the best events happening around town. We took you via live stream to the annual Salute to Greatness Awards dinner held by the King Center each year, hosted by Bernice A King, daughter of slain civil rights leader. Guests hosts were Malcolm Jamal Warner (Cosby Show, Malcolm & Eddie) and Dawn Lewis (A Different World, Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper). Saluted were the greatest of all time Muhammad Ali — accepting for Ali was his daughter Rasheda Ali; One Billion Rising and Eve Ensler, and Sughar Founder Khalida Brohi; along with Xerox Corporation. Amazing evening with leaders of yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

From there, we buzzed comedy, 5k runs, film screenings, marches, speeches, panels and more all in the name continuing the dream of Dr King. Links to streamed events available at Thanks to all who participated by switching their avatars as part of #choosenonviolence. Keep a King heart everyday and we can change the world.

Now for the best and mediocre of this weekend’s box office. Ride Along with Kevin Hart and Ice Cube burst on the scene taking best with more than $40M; followed by second best Lone Survivor with $22M and The Nut Job with $19M. I guess we can say the Crabtree of weekend take was Jack Ryan at #4 or Devil’s Due at #7 — but if we’re talking about them — are they really mediocre.

Are you ready to become your best. Here’s an event that might take you from mediocre to best in one visit. Connect and learn from experts in the areas of Emotional, Physical, Spiritual, Professional Development, Personal & Business Branding, Love, Wealth Building and Financial Prosperity at one of Atlanta’s premiere Day Spa when you join host Tarra “MsMadamMoney” Jackson and her special wonder women Saturday, February 1, 2014. DryerBuzz Entertainment Report Wednesday Woman Adepero Oduye | What is Sochi | MLK Dream Stream

January 15, 2014

DryerBuzz Entertainment Report…

Raw Transcript: Looking for the buzz… you found it – This is Entertainment Report – Let’s get it buzzing – what day is it – yes it’s humpday but it’s also time for Wednesday Woman – women you ought to know and buzz.

Rewind… back to the Golden Globes … back to 12 Years a Slave… and yes we had to search for her almost like a runaway slave. We didn’t see her as the cast came out for the awards … yet Adepero Oduye made a lasting impression on me as one of the films stars. Her scene, the scene of “Let Me Weep Solomon” remains on my heart and i think was one of the most pivotal scenes in the movie – one somewhat overlooked if you ask me. It is the scene where the main character give his speech of waiting for freedom’s opportune — but where are we if no one weeps for women and children – you already know – we are here where we are today. We’ve got to stop missing the story of women and children. Our Wednesday Woman is Adepero Oduye from 12 Years a Slave. I want you to follow her buzz. Pick up her trail in social media. Amazing. See how she was thrust into the path of acting. Discover her previous work and awards. Follow and support her in social media. “Let Me Weep Solomon.”

What is Sochi – Sochi is a couple of things, but as it relates to conversations you’re over hearing along with news items and trends, it refers to the winter olympics. If you hear people talking about going to Sochi – they are going to the Olympics. Winter Olympics gets a bit a shade. One, because its cold as … well let’s just say it’s a different season of sports. There’s ice skating, skiing, speed skating and more. The programming doesn’t inundate television like summer olympics. But it is still exciting. Many athletes are finding out right now if they made Olympic teams and have to prepare right away for the trip to the Black Sea Region. While some are highly endorsed, others are counting on you and you can help an athlete get there – many have launched crowdfunding and you’ll find their campaigns on popular crowdfunding sites.

kingsthumbSpeaking of Dreams – you know we’re live and interactive from Atlanta. King Holiday events have already kicked off in our city and gets even better for the weekend leading to the national Holiday, Monday January 20th. We’re honored to host the red carpet and bring you all the buzz behind the buzz in partnership with RouteTV, from the annual Salute to Greatness Award, where one of the King Center’s highest honors, is presented during the Annual Salute to Greatness Awards Dinner, to individuals and progressive organizations in recognition of outstanding efforts toward building Dr. King’s Beloved Community. This year the honor goes to our favorite Heavy Weight Champion, Humanitarian, Philanthropist Muhammad Ali. Also recognized will be Xerox Corporation, One Billion Rising Campaign, Khalida Brohi, and the presentation of Coretta Scott King A.N.G.E.L. Award to deserving youth.

A live stream available to watch all the buzzing interviewers from the red carpet. Don’t miss.

In remembrance and unity, the King Center is asking everything to #ChooseNonViolence MLK Holiday. To show your support and encourage others, an avi has been provided. You’re asked to change your avi to the #NoShotsFired provided on the King Center’s facebook page. Atlanta High Schoolers who make the change and tag the King Center and use the #ChooseNonViolence tag may be randomly selected to attend the Hawks vs the Miami Heat. We’ll be there as events of the MLK Holiday wrap up. Make this year special – #ChooseNonViolence.
