B-AWARE Foundation Presents The 4th Annual“A-Town Day“
SAVE THE DATE: Saturday, March 20th 2010 at 12pm, the family can enjoy fun-filled activities, food and music while receiving free health screenings and information at the 4th annual “A-Town Day.” With over 7,000 in attendance last year, the goal is to raise funds with the proceeds going towards The Diabetes Association of Atlanta & B-AWARE Foundation.
www.atownday.com –The largest outdoor community outreach awareness festival and concert in the city of Atlanta deemed by State Representative Kathy Ashe and given its‘ own House Resolution (1658) has partnered with The Spirit of Sweet Auburn. ”We made the move to the Historic Sweet Auburn District in an attempt to bring awareness directly to the community. We felt this would help us bring in additional donations to all of the charities involved. We do this event to convey awareness to the community; this move allows us to drop the prices on everything from tickets to vendor booths. We aim to make the entire city AWARE. We do not want anyone to miss out on the AWARENESS messages because the ticket prices are too high, eventually A-TOWN DAY will be a free event for the city of Atlanta,“ excitedly states the founder of A-Town Day, Brian Glasper.
Children 6 and under are free and general admission is only $5. Organizations taking part include: Diabetes Association Of Atlanta, Atlanta Fire Department, The Red Cross, Fulton County Voter Registration, Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau, Fulton & DeKalb County Health Departments, Fulton County Human Resources with McDonald’s, Wal-Mart and Bally’s Total Fitness as sponsors of the event. Entertainment will include performances from artists in every type of music genre – rock, gospel, R&B, spoken word to Hip-Hop who will share health care and environmental statistics before each performance.

The 5th Annual International Soul Music Summit was announced Monday for 2010. The Soul Summit or ISMS as it has become known, is the largest music conference in the world dedicated to the Independent Soul genre with an emphasis on culture, lifestyle and business networking. The 2010 International Soul Music Summit moves to the Hyatt Regency, Atlanta Aug 19th to 22nd and will be held in conjunction with the Peachtree Village International Film festival expanding the business networking opportunities for participants. Registrants for ISMS will be able to participate in PVIFF workshops providing direct contact with film and TV business leaders creating opportunities for original collaborations and music licensing.
