The Buzz — Award-winning gospel artist Darwin Hobbs was recently hospitalized due to complications after what doctors believe was complications from his gastric bypass procedure.  Hobbs has now pledged to tackle his health the “right” way, enlisting Atlanta-based Celebrity Fitness Trainer Kenya Crooks to help him lose 200 pounds.

Already credited with helping Super Producer Jazze Pha lose 73 pounds in three months, and Comedian Rodney Perry (Co-host of BET’S The Mo’nique Show) lose 20 pounds in three short weeks, now Hobbs is following in their steps to weight lost.

“I’ve been praying and trusting that God would build a team around me who could help me achieve my weight loss goals,” says Hobbs, who has received rave reviews with his newest CD “Champion“.  “I’m super excited to be partnering with Kenya Crooks because I know he can help me conquer my biggest “giant.”

An accomplished personal trainer and weight loss expert, Crooks has made it his personal and professional mission to tackle the obesity epidemic from every community, but pays special attention to the African American community, affirming that “Death by fork is not an option.”  He not only offers one-on-one personal training sessions, but holds community workout sessions throughout metro Atlanta, and praises the weekly successes of all of his clients as though they were celebrities.  His methods combine a healthy eating plan with varied workout routines, which may also include structured team activities.

“I am determined to tackle this obesity epidemic that is literally killing our community,” says Crooks.  “I will start with the biggest stars (literally) in every industry and in time, I believe that everyone will adopt this new standard of living.”
