The medical examiner has ruled the death of Ashley “A.J.” Jewell a homicide. Jewell was the ex-fiance of Kandi Burruss, a cast member of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” and he had also been featured on the show.

Real Atlanta Housewives Update (RHOA) … Buzz in syndication…
Bullet in the Chamber Holla… While it is clear that many of the fans have a love-hate relationship with the ladies, it is a shameless addiction that has lured television audiences around the world. Described by many as a “dramady,” this season was filled with cat fights, back stabbing, men in high heels, and a sparring match with a party planner. All to culminate with a season finale centered on the much anticipated fashion show of one of the reality program’s stars, Sheree Whitfield, co-produced by none other than Glenn Bean.
In an effort to avoid the fashion show disaster of season one, this season’s finale’s fashion show was spearheaded by international fashion expert and reality television star, Dwight Eubanks. With nothing done the production, Eubanks immediately enlisted the services of his publicist, Mr. Bean, as the event designer, with thirty hours to pull it all together on zero budget. With Bean’s eye for detail and Eubanks’ extensive fashion background and panache, the two were a partnership to truly reckon with, infusing their own funds to ensure success.
“VIPDistinct is a powerful force in the luxury event planning market,” explains Eubanks. “Partnering with Glenn Bean provided the medium to take the show to a higher level and reach the sophistication and influence She By Sheree needed.”
The star-studded, red carpet affair, entitled The Evolution of She: 50’s Glamour Meets 21st Century Sophistication, delivered a treat for the senses as Bean and his team transformed the ballroom at the W Hotel into a glamorous catwalk that was filled beyond capacity with Atlanta’s most distinguished socialites, VIPs and fashionistas, all supported by co-stars of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Lisa Wu Hartwell, Kandi Burress, Nene Leakes, Kim Zolciak and Dwight Eubanks. Celebrities in attendance also included R&B singer Bobby Valentino, singer Angie Stone, retired NFL player Dorsey Levens, WSB-TV anchor Jovita Moore, producer Jazzy Phe and designer Mychael Knight.

CNN.com – Atlanta police spokesman Officer James Polite said AJ Jewell and another man fought at an Atlanta club. Afterward, Jewell was taken to a hospital, where he died of blunt force trauma to the head, Polite said.

DryerBuzz.com — The news of chaos at an Atlanta club surfaced via social networks late Friday evening. Kandi Burruss (@kandiconnection) confirmed suspicions of AJ’s death via twitter when she asked fans to think of his children. According to her tweets, Burruss had recently returned to Atlanta to attend the funeral of her uncle, memorialized Saturday October 3, 2009 just hours after AJ’s death.
A chef at the Body Tap, Chef K.C. alerted his followers that he was unable to enter the club when he arrived for the evening because of the fight that lead to Jewell’s death. Details continue to unfold as well as an arrest has been made.

Well Kandi, as you requested we pray for AJ’s children. No matter the measure of a man, in his childrens eyes, he’s still a giant. Ironically, Burruss has been ripped lately for not bringing enough drama to the show.

Atlanta we were invited… to get the buzz behind the buzz
ASCAP (the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) has revealed plans for ASCAP Presents… Women Behind the Music, a new series of events produced exclusively by the women of ASCAP’s Rhythm & Soul Team. The program is designed to encourage and recognize women in the music creator community, and will feature showcases and educational panels in Atlanta, Los Angeles and New York.
“We’re very excited to launch this new series,” said Nicole George, ASCAP Assistant Vice President of Membership, Rhythm & Soul. “Whether established or just starting out in their careers, our goal is to encourage the professional development and career advancement of our talented female songwriters and artists, and recognize their positive contributions to music.”
The “Women Behind the Music” series kicks off in Atlanta on Tuesday, August 25 with a high-profile showcase taking place at 595 North Lounge, 595 North Ave. NW, (North Ave. & Northside Dr.). Headlining the showcase is Grammy Award-winning songwriter Kandi Burruss, who has written songs for several major artists, including Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys and TLC. Burruss, a former member of R&B girl group Xscape, was named ASCAP Songwriter of the Year at the organization’s Rhythm & Soul Music Awards in 2000, and is the first female to receive this honor at the annual awards ceremony. Burruss is currently working on her sophomore solo CD, titled B.L.O.G.S., scheduled for release this fall, and is the newest addition to Bravo’s hit reality show, The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Completing the line-up for the Atlanta showcase is Alja Jackson aka Jesse James (Leftfield/Interscope Records), Mika Means (Universal/Motown Records), Myxx (Drift City Records), and Brittany Street (Good ComPENy). The showcase will also feature DJ Traci Steele of 95.5 The Beat, who is Musiq Soulchild’s official DJ. The event starts at 9:00pm and is free and open to the public, 18 & over with ID. Donations will be accepted at this event for Susan G. Komen For The Cure – Greater Atlanta Area.
Other events in the “Women Behind the Music” series include a panel in New York on September 2nd, a showcase in Los Angeles on September 8th, and a special interview in New York on September 9th. More details to be announced.

As the Drama Turns… last week’s episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta the KIM-TERVENTION left us sitting on the edge of our seats and all up in our tweets. The drama with NeNe (@neneleakes), Sheree (@iamsheree), and Kim (@Kimzolciak) didn’t come to the final five of the show leaving plenty time to contemplate an issue that hit home for cast member Kandi Burris (@kandiconnection) and way too many viewers – baby daddies and the women who love them.
